(ANSA) - Rome, November 1 - Police on Thursday detained an
Italo-American student after he allegedly tried to murder a
friend at a flat in central Rome after a night partying for
Halloween.
The victim, also Italo-American, was reportedly stabbed 25
times after he and two friends went to bed.
The assailant reportedly got back up and attacked him. Earlier, police said, there may have been an argument or a game that went awry. The victim is now receiving treatment for a perforated lung at a hospital in the capital. A third male, also Italo-American, was slightly wounded in the attack. The friends are reported to have consumed drugs and alcohol at a well-known stop on the Rome party circuit, the Atlantic bar, before going home in the early hours of Thursday.
